Sustainability
Antique and vintage goods are both stylish and sustainable.

They have a low carbon footprint thanks to their existing lifespan and they help reduce deforestation because no trees are being cut to produce them.

They help reduce landfill because, unlike mass-produced non-recyclables, they are high quality in material and craft, and are destined to outlive most other possessions.

Everything we buy interacts with the environment. Second hand furniture and accessories are not only unique, characterful and nostalgic, but also contribute to a sustainable home.

The paintings entitled Lemons are a meditation on light and colour. The fruits are grouped together in the top half of the painting leaving an abstract surface that becomes infused with their colour. The whole painting resonates with shifting tones and hues that draw the spectator into the process of constructing solids out of thin air. The simplicity of the composition, and the openness of each form, allows us to feel the qualities of the lemons without privileging sight over other senses. Layering brushstrokes over tertiary colours, the paintings are held together, as though by gravity, referencing the meditative quality of abstraction and the silence that such a colour field creates.
