Antique and vintage goods are both stylish and sustainable.

They have a low carbon footprint thanks to their existing lifespan and they help reduce deforestation because no trees are being cut to produce them.

They help reduce landfill because, unlike mass-produced non-recyclables, they are high quality in material and craft, and are destined to outlive most other possessions.

Everything we buy interacts with the environment. Second hand furniture and accessories are not only unique, characterful and nostalgic, but also contribute to a sustainable home.

Maker Spotlight | McIntosh

McIntosh is a proudly Scottish furniture makers founded by Alexander Henry McIntosh in 1869 in the coastal town of Kirkcaldy, Fife. The company's ethos is built on quality products created by highly skilled local craftsmen, this created a reputation that gave them international recognition exhibiting at the World Fair in Paris in 1878 and the Sydney Exhibition in 1879. After the second world war McIntosh, like many of their contemporaries, embraced midcentury modern and Scandinavian design using clean lines and organic sculptural elements in their furniture. McIntosh to this day are known for their quality furniture particularly sideboards, the most popular of which is the Dunvegan sideboard designed by Tom Robertson in the 1960s.
